Motor Mechanic

Kylemore Cars is Ireland’s leading independent used car retailer.   As a result of significant expansion, we are currently recruiting for a number of key positions including a qualified Motor Mechanic to join our team.

The role of a mechanic involves repairing vehicles and conducting maintenance checks to ensure the automobile is in good running order. High-quality mechanics are an essential part of ensuring road safety and preventing accidents. The candidate must have excellent technical knowledge of a wide array of vehicles.

 The typical duties include:

  • Conducting vehicle checks to see if repairs are necessary and the level of urgency required.
  • Fitting of various wear & tear parts.
  • Testing automobiles to ensure the repairs were successful. This process may necessitate a road test.
  • Changing tyres, balancing & alignment of wheels.
  • Standard servicing of vehicles.
  • Conducting pre NCT / DOE inspections on vehicles.
  • Working with car accessory databases and requesting parts.
  • Updating vehicle maintenance records.
  • Maintaining work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.
  • Completing work within company standards.

Skills

  • A reasonable degree of fitness.
  • The ability to work alone without instruction or as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with colleagues and customers.
  • Strong organisational skills and a deep level of concentration.
  • A methodical nature with outstanding attention to detail.
  • A genuine interest in motor vehicles.
  • The capacity to work to deadlines.
  • Must speak fluent English.
  • Must have a full clean Irish Driving License.

Education & Experience

  •  Candidate must have completed all phases of the Motor Mechanic apprenticeship.
  • Candidate must have 4+  years’ experience.

Experience in diagnostics and transmissions is an advantage.

Salary & Benefits

40,000.00 – 45,000.00   DOE

Service Advisor 

Kylemore Cars is Ireland’s leading independent used car retailer.   As a result of significant expansion, we are currently recruiting for a number of key positions including an experienced Service Advisor to join our team.

A Service Advisor is the main point of contact for customers looking to get their car serviced / repaired at the Service Centre. They work closely with Motor Mechanics / Technicians, Service Manager and are responsible for listening to the customer's concerns, diagnosing the problem, and then communicating this information to the motor mechanics / technicians. They also provide estimates for work, complete job cards, handle customer queries, warranty issues and ensure that the work is completed to the customer's satisfaction efficiently and in timely manner. The candidate must have excellent knowledge of a wide array of vehicles.

 The typical duties include:

• Handle telephone calls and walk in requests from customer wishing to book service or repair work.

• Determine workshop availability using the workshop booking system.

• Make suitable appointment for customer.

• Liaise with the parts dept and motor factors to ensure that the correct parts are ordered for the job and will be available.

• Meet and greet the customer when they arrive with their vehicle.

• Establish a clear understanding of any symptom or problem the customer has with their vehicle. This information is obtained by questioning the customer about the vehicles performance, by a visual inspection or by a road test.

• Note any issues with the vehicle and input all this information on the Job Card to assist the Technician to arrive at a final diagnosis.

• Complete Job Card with clear information on each piece of work to be completed by the Workshop.

• Verify method of payment and clarify what the customer must pay for.

• Organise a courtesy car for customer if appropriate.

• Liaise with customers while their vehicle is in the workshop to inform them of the estimate of the costs involved in any additional work and obtain authorisation for all such additional work

• Liaise with the Workshop to ensure that the customers’ needs are communicated to the Technicians and negotiate any actions required to ensure that the customers requirements are met.

•Liaise with Service Manager for details of cars in prep and cars with warranty issues.

• Maintain and complete warranty reports and completing required paperwork for warranty claims.

• Ensure that the customers vehicle is ready for collection at the pre-agreed time.

• When the customer arrives to collect their car, explain all service and repair work completed item by item and how this is reflected in the invoice.

• Notify customers when backorder parts become available, arrange appointment and schedule into workshop.

• Manage bookings to maximise workshop productivity.

• Assume some appointed duties of the Service Manager or other staff members in their absence

• Any other tasks that may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis

The Service Advisor will report to the Service Manager, Head of Service and Head of Sales.

The ideal candidate will be experienced and fully understand their responsibilities towards the business and the company ethos. They must be experienced in various areas of car servicing, 

Requirements:

  • Experience with Oil Changes
  • Experience with brake discs & pads

  • Experience with general car maintenance

  • Dealing with other team members, management, staff in a courteous and professional manner

This exciting role will involve working to oversee the progress of our 300+ used cars. This is a key role in ensuring a highly efficient, timely and cost-effective vehicle delivery process and an excellent customer experience both on our premises.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Making sure all vehicles are exquisitely presented to a premium standard
  • Preparing new arrivals, including full valet.
  • ·Check in vehicle as it arrives into stock..
  • ·Weekly stock check to be completed on site.
  • ·Other ad-hoc duties will include general showroom and facility upkeep.

The successful candidate will ideally:

  • ·Have a full, clean driving licence.

This exciting role will allow the selected candidate the opportunity to sell from our 200+ range of cars at Ireland’s most competitive prices.

This is a demanding but rewarding role ensuring maximum volume in a highly efficient, timely and customer experience orientated manner adhering to our tailored vehicle sales and follow up process.

Duties and responsibilities include:

The ability to effectively maximize the opportunity to do business handling inbound sales enquiries via phone, online or in to assess and describe a customer’s trade in vehicle whilst building a strong rapport.

Attention to detail throughout a customer walkthrough of our vehicle to suit their needs and desires.

Confidence during presentation of figures to potential customers including finance figures, additional products etc. with the intention of agreeing a purchase and securing a deposit.
